According to Bob Hanning, Vice President of the German Handball Federation, team captain Uwe Gensheimer will be ready to play in their Group C opener against Hungary at Rouen on Friday. “We plan that he will travel to Rouen today, accompanied by our team manager Oliver Roggisch,” Hanning said on Thursday.

Gensheimer had left the German camp last weekend after the sudden and unexpected death of his father. Coach Dagur Sigurdsson had said yesterday, that “Uwe will get all the time he needs after this tragic situation”.
