Slovenia : Bombac, Skof and Zorman won’t play 2017 World Championship

4 January 2017

This is quite a blow for Slovenia : its talented centre-back Dean Bombac won’t play the 2017 World Championship in France. The 27 year-old Kielce player has some broken ribs for several weeks and had to drop out the preparation phase. Slovenia head coach Veselin Vujovic also decided that he will not call two very experienced players in his final list : centre-back Uros Zorman and PSG goalkeeper Gorazd Skof. ‘‘We have a lot of matches in France. That’s why I decided to give chance to some younger guys’’, told Vujovic to explain his choice. After defeating Saudi Arabia in Brezice (31-18), Slovenia will play two friendly matches against the French team, on January 6th in Montpellier and on January 8th in Toulouse.
