A GUEST WITH SHARP TEETH
Norway, also known as Women’s Handball country! In January 2016, at the European Championship in Poland, the men’s team emerged from the shadows of their brilliant female counterparts, faltering only at the steps of the European continental podium. With a remarkable victory over the French team, the Norwegians lost out through falling one goal short to Germany, the eventual winners, in a magnificent semi-final match. It was a huge disappointment that they couldn’t overcome in the third-place playoffs against Croatia. Beaten by Slovenia in the qualifying playoffs, Norway owes its participation in the 2017 World Championship to the wild card place awarded by the International Handball Federation (IHF). As an important player in the Golden League, a friendly competition which provides a good opportunity to progress, the team led by Christian Berge arrives in France as a team to watch.
