The International Handball Federation (IHF), Handball World Championship rights holder, has awarded the 2017 edition to the French Handball Federation (FFHB). The official IHF partners have therefore become France Handball2017’s.

IHF media partner

As 2015 World Men’s Handball Championship right holder in 2015, beIN SPORTS provided significant Handball coverage during the Qatar World Championship and handled the competition’s worldwide distribution in 177 countries.
As part of the agreement with the IHF, beIN SPORTS is the international distributor for the 2017 Men’s and Women’s Handball Championship and will broadcast these events through their various channels.

Grundfos’ partnership with the IHF to support handball finds its roots in the two partners’ common priorities: Constant development and focus on reliability. Since it was founded in 1945, Grundfos has developed some of the world’s most efficient pumping solutions, becoming the international leader in the pump industry in the process. 50% of the pumps sold worldwide are manufactured by this Danish company that employs 19,000 people in 56 countries.

Official retailer

With 5,200 stores in 39 countries, Intersport is the worldwide leader in the sporting goods retail market. Yet the Swiss company remains strongly linked to local team sports, and especially local handball teams. Through its individual retailers, it supports many amateur clubs. The international corporation is also deeply involved at the highest level through partnerships with professional clubs and major international competitions. Its partnership with the IHF and the World Championship is a logical one and the event’s official products of the event will be available at Intersport.

MOLTEN
Official ball supplier

Molten Corporation specialises in sports equipment, automotive parts and healthcare equipment. Last year, the Japanese company became the official ball supplier for all IHF sanctioned competitions. Molten has also signed a partnership with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and is among the official ball suppliers for leagues and national federations in volleyball, beach volleyball, football and rugby. Molten balls meet the demanding technical criteria set by the IHF but they also feature a unique and customised design for the Handball World Championship. The “X 5000”, official Qatar 2015 ball, incorporated the elements of the championship’s brand identity.

LA CAISSE D’ÉPARGNE
The Caisse d’Épargne strengthens its engagement with Handball by partnering with the 2017 Men’s World Handball Championship Organising Committee. In addition to supporting the “experts”, who will defend their title, the Caisse d’Épargne aims to accompany FFHandball in the success of this international event which will be responsible for mobilising the regions of France. As part of the DNA of a regional bank, the Caisse d’Épargne will be active within the various regions hosting World Championship games to excite fans in this festival of sports.

Lidl has been associated with French handball for over a year, and it is now expanding its engagement to the international level, by becoming a Phenomenal Partner of the 25th IHF Men’s World Handball Championship. As a major international group in the automotive industry, the Renault Group markets nearly 45 models under three brands in 125 countries. As they are the «Official Supplier» of the World Championship, the entire fleet of vehicles for the Organising Committee will be supplied by Renault. There will be more than 125 official vehicles travelling on the French roads during the 3 weeks of the competition.

It has been developing high-end sportswear collections for men, women and children since 1987. As the style sponsor of France Handball 2017, the French ready-to-wear brand will dress the members of the Organising Committee throughout the competition.

TRANSDEV
As a world leader in sustainable mobility and a major player in international public transport, Transdev will be responsible for transporting the 24 qualifying teams for the 25th Men’s World Handball Championship.

L’ÉQUIPE
L’Équipe, a multi-media group, is the number 1 sports information outlet, with newspapers, magazine, website, app and TV channels, with 29.3 million individual users per month. The strong partnership between France Handball 2017 and L’Équipe will allow the competition to get all- round media coverage and for a whole variety of features and stories, results and first-hand accounts. It will also give L’Équipe the chance to meet handball fans. L’Équipe, is a long-standing sports partner in France and, through this partnership, shows a strong support for major sports events taking place in the country.
The team will work alongside the audio description system being used for the first time in a World Handball Championship. There will be a commentator to describe the atmosphere in the sports arena, and a sports journalist from L’Équipe channel to describe the game, all of which will bring the matches to life for the visually impaired for 8 matches in the competition (1 match on each site). In total, three journalists will work on this: Raphael Sebaoun, Benoit Cosset and Candice Rolland.

RMC
The leading radio station in France for all sports news has become the radio partner for the 25th Men’s World Handball Championship. RMC will take part in promoting the event from the very start of the competition on Wednesday 11th January 2017.
